What is/are Ketoconazole Topical Foam? (Back to top)
KETOCONAZOLE is an antifungal. It is used to treat a skin condition called seborrheic dermatitis. This medicine may be used for other purposes; ask your health care provider or pharmacist if you have questions.

What should I tell my health care providers before I take this medicine? (Back to top)
They need to know if you have any of these conditions:

• an unusual or allergic reaction to ketoconazole, other medicines, foods, dyes, or preservatives
• pregnant or trying to get pregnant
• breast-feeding

How should I use this medicine? (Back to top)
This medicine is for external use only. Follow the directions on the prescription label. Wash your hands before and after use. Do not apply this directly to hands. Hold can upright and release onto a cool surface. Apply to the affected areas using the fingertips. Rub this medicine into affected skin until the medicine disappears. Avoid getting this medicine in your eyes, nose or other areas of sensitive skin. If contact occurs, rinse with plenty of water. Use your medicine at regular intervals. Finish the full course prescribed by your doctor or health care professional even if you think your condition is better. Do not stop using except on the advice of your doctor or health care professional.

A patient information sheet for the product will be given with each prescription and refill. Read this sheet carefully each time. The sheet may change frequently.

Talk to your pediatrician regarding the use of this medicine in children. While this medicine may be prescribed for children as young as 12 years of age for selected conditions, precautions do apply.

Overdosage: If you think you have taken too much of this medicine contact a poison control center or emergency room at once.

If you miss a dose, use it as soon as you can. If it is almost time for your next dose, use only that dose. Do not use double or extra doses.

This medicine can make you more sensitive to the sun. Keep out of the sun. If you cannot avoid being in the sun, wear protective clothing and use sunscreen. Do not use sun lamps or tanning beds/booths.

Keep out of the reach of children.

Store at room temperature between 20 and 25 degrees C (68 and 77 degrees F). Do not refrigerate or freeze. This medicine is flammable. Keep away from fire, flame or smoke. Keep out of bright sunlight. Throw away any unused medicine after the expiration date.
